Muneeba’s unbeaten ton powers Pakistan to record chase in final T20I
Dublin, 10 August 2025: Wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali produced a scintillating second T20I century to guide Pakistan Women to a commanding eight-wicket victory over Ireland Women in the third and last T20I of the series at Clontarf Cricket Club on Sunday afternoon.
Chasing 156, the left-hander remained unbeaten on 100 from 68 balls, ensuring Pakistan crossed the line with 14 deliveries to spare. Muneeba continues to be the only Pakistan batter to have scored a century in Women’s T20Is — her first also coming against Ireland in February 2023, off 66 balls.
This win marks Pakistan’s highest successful run chase in Women’s T20Is, surpassing their previous best of 151 against South Africa in Karachi in 2023, and equals their joint-highest second innings total.
Opening the innings, Muneeba began in style with three consecutive fours off Orla Prendergast, adding another six boundaries and a maximum during the Powerplay. By the end of the sixth over, Pakistan were 55-2, having lost Shawaal Zulfiqar and promoted batter Natalia Parvaiz.
At No.4, Aliya Riaz joined Muneeba and the pair stitched together an unbroken 101-run stand from 70 balls — just the fourth century partnership for Pakistan Women in T20Is, with Muneeba involved in two of them. She reached her half-century in 29 deliveries, while Aliya contributed a brisk 39* from 27 balls with five fours. The winning run also brought up Muneeba’s milestone century, studded with 14 fours and a six.
For Ireland, Ava Canning and Lara McBride claimed a wicket apiece.
Earlier, Ireland had raced to 52 without loss inside 5.2 overs, thanks to skipper Gaby Lewis (36 off 22, 8x4s) and Amy Hunter (29 off 33, 3x4s, 1x6). Player of the Series Orla Prendergast anchored the innings with an unbeaten 64 off 46 balls, striking eight fours, as the hosts posted 155-4. Pakistan’s bowling effort saw Rameen Shamim, Waheeda Akhtar, Sadia Iqbal, and Fatima Sana share the wickets.
